Qstack’s unified and easy-to-use user interface allows enterprises to securely and efficiently manage their entire data center portfolio – multiple clouds (public and private cloud) across different geo-zones – all directly from the same self-service portal. Supporting provisioning of multi-tenant bare metal servers, virtual machines, containers and applications including support of existing networking infrastructure topology. Qstack is highly scalable with no scaling limitations. Qstack is easily installable, quickly obtaining a running management server on dedicated on-premise physical server or inside a virtualized instance. No Vendor Lock-in

Qstack is hypervisor agnostic and supports the three most popular hypervisors in the market, VMware vSphere, KVM and Microsoft Hyper-V allowing for a multi-hypervisor setup on a single management host. Enterprises can therefore leverage existing hypervisor platforms and associated licenses when implementing Qstack. Moreover, enterprises can mix hypervisor platforms running in development, testing and staging environments to reduce license fees.

Qstack is hardware agnostic and runs on any modern x86 and x64 infrastructure. Qstack can be deployed on a dedicated server or inside a virtual machine, thus enabling enterprises to leverage existing infrastructure and licensing investments, or help phase out ineffective solutions.

 
 

Secure Architecture

Qstack is designed and developed according to the highest security standards as used by enterprises and organizations in highly regulated industries, such as financial services and healthcare. Qstack’s security architecture is based on the premise that each component is independently secure and all interactions to and from it are authenticated and authorized. Qstack uses mutual Transport Layer Security (mTLS) for communication between Qstack components and digital certificates for internal authorization. All external and internal UI and API endpoints are operated over HTTPS TLS 1.2 using only strong, modern ciphers. Data confidentiality for sensitive data at rest is ensured with industry standard encryption, using AES-256 in CBC mode and PBKDF2 for key derivation. Confidentiality of multi-tenant Qstack environments is enforced through VLAN isolation at network layer, and with configurable dedication of hosts at the hypervisor and storage layer, ensuring full, yet flexible segregation between tenants when needed.

Resource Allocation and Usage Metering

Qstack gives a detailed overview of allocated and available resources where different user levels and privileges can be easily defined. Based on hierarchical user permission levels, resource quota limitations can be set and adjusted per department, project and individual users. Within the administration interface, enhanced permissions can be granted to users and administrators. Qstack enables user’s single-sign-on (SAML 2.0 SSO) supporting LDAP, Active Directory and multiple other Identity Providers.
Qstack has built in chargeback metering features, allowing for the gathering, monitoring and exporting of detailed usage data and cost parameters. Supporting any level from department to project, user or specific resource granularity into existing financial accounting systems, ensuring accountability and IT resource transparency.
